My mission is to help hairstylists nail the rules, then throw them away and create from their soul, putting trust in their skills and artistry. I do this because I needed a Sami when I was learning, and I genuinely love providing value to the stylist community.
I want to show hairstylists that it’s ok to carve their own path and go against the flow by emulating that in my own brand. You don’t have to do everything by the book. You don’t have to be pleasing or likable all the time. Be rough around the edges. Be blunt (but kind). Say fuck. Wear makeup or don’t. Who is going to stop you? Find the people who truly value you for who you are and what you offer.
There is no tool that is off limits, no rule that can’t be broken as long as you understand the outcome.
Miseducation is not just about telling you what I know, but rather building on what you know to help you leave feeling empowered, confident, and with real tools you can implement right away. It's about looking at art differently, putting aside traditional methodologies and finding a more intuitive approach to your craft while also developing your artistic eye, learning to trust your creative instincts and give truly personalized experiences to your clients that they can't get anywhere else.
As an educator for one of the worlds most prestigious professional hair companies, I've seen first hand the struggles that hairstylists experience. I developed a passion for sharing my approach and point of view, and learned that flipping the script and finding new ways to create only enhances my ability to give my clients what they want.
No one is beholden to old rules. Time to break them.
